We all know the Harry Potter series is more than a couple of books. Reading it is the adventure of a life time. But it also teaches us many lessons that apply outside the wizarding world. The spreading of these lessons is the mission of the Harry Potter Alliance. The HPA strives to bring lessons that our favourite characters taught us into the muggle world. The one character they focus largely on is Dumbledore. This alliance strives to help others. They try to overcome discrimination and shed light on the issues like genocide and global warming.

While most of us were getting our costumes together or buying our tickets the days leading up to the release of the 6th film, this organization was doing something different. They were giving out name tags with the phrase W.W.D.D, What Would Dumbledore Do? With these name tags, they were going to spread the lessons Dumbledore taught us. The mission was to write what Dumbledore taught you. While some were silly, others were more serious. These name tags, while teaching a lesson, were also a tribute to Dumbledore’s memory.

The HPA has been getting lots of press coverage as well because of the movie. The founder of HPA, Andrew Slack, was recently on Today Australia. And the alliance was briefly mentioned in Time Magazine. Even J.K. Rowling has said how proud she is to have one of her characters' names on such a worthy cause.
