J.K. Rowling's Message about "Helping Haiti Heal"

So far <a href="http://thehpalliance.org/haiti/"target="blank">"Helping Hait Heal," a ground-roots project that many Harry Potter fans have come together for to help Haiti has raised $112,000 that will be donated to Partners in Health who are helping the nation rebuild. J.K. Rowling was hearing all the amazing things that fans have done for Haiti and she sent a <a href="http://www.examiner.com/x-11093-Harry-Potter-Examiner~y2010m2d5-A-Note-from-JK-Rowling-on-Helping-Haiti-Heal"target="blank">message for all the fans.

"To everyone who has helped raise such an incredible amount for the earthquake survivors in Haiti: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Like many others, I made a personal donation to the DEC shortly after the earthquake happened; but never did I expect such an amazing response from all of you. You cannot imagine how awed, moved and humbled I am to know that planes named Harry, Ron and Hermione are going to be flying off to help. I did not need this to remind me how extraordinary Harry’s fans are, but you keep giving me proofs. THANK YOU! - Jo"

Keep helping Haiti heal by either donating what ever you can to the cause or by letting people know about the cause and having them donate. All the support everyone can do will help.

We want to wish Tyler Smith a very Happy Birthday. He has done a few editorials and characters' pages, and is a part of sevenawesomaps. Even though he's a fan of Harry Potter, he loves politics and hopes to be the future president of the United States. He's a great friend and staffer of the site.

On a personal note, "I do declare" that he's the best friend and not related brother I ever had. I don't know who I would be today without him. I've had great skype chats with him and some of our friends from Accio-Potter, that I'll never forget. I'll be honored when he becomes President, and all of you should too, because we can all say we knew him first.

I hope you have a great magical birthday, Tyler.

Check out my awesome video for Tyler <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMu2D49rONo"target="blank">here!

The <a href="http://p.p0.com/YesConnect/HtmlMessagePreview?a=JiU2Xesj0xqt6FCtqlM1GmPU&msgVersion=web"target="blank">Official Harry Potter Newsletter includes a interview with Half-Blood Prince composer Nicholas Hooper. He talks about his favorite songs to score. He also how long it takes to create a soundtrack, and other things as well.

Q: What was the most difficult scene to score in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?

A: There were two that were particularly difficult. Firstly, was the scene where Snape makes the "Unbreakable Vow." It was a big and vitally important scene - central to the plot - but everyone was very quiet. The music had to almost not be there but build to support the making of the vow while Bellatrix whispered it. Very tricky. The other scene was Dumbledore lying dead in the courtyard. Writing music that communicates such sadness is very, very hard. I think the orchestra at the scoring felt it and I hope that that communicated itself to the audience.

To see more of the interview, click here.

USA Today will give out a special bonus today. If you grab their paper today, you can receive a three-dimensional sneak peek at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at <a href="http://www.universalorlando.com/home/home.aspx"target="blank">Universal Orlando Resort before it opens in Spring 2010. With this sneak peek in the newspaper, a computer and a webcam will help you see inside the theme park.

You have to get a copy of the newspaper first. Then put the printed map in that newspaper in front of your webcam, and you can take a closer look at the entire area from all sides and angles through augmented-reality technology. Among the highlights:

• Hogwarts castle will appear.

• Hold the map closer to your webcamand explore Hogsmeade village.

• See where the Hogwarts Express has just arrived.

• Blow on your computer's microphone, and the banners on the map will wave.

Additionally, the Associated Press mentioned this.

The technology blends computer images and real-life environments to provide a tour of the 20-acre park from all angles. For example, holding the map closer to the webcam activates a close-up view of the magical town of Hogsmeade and the Hogwarts Express. Banners on the map flap in the breeze if the microphone is blown into.

This sounds like something fans might want to pick up today. If anyone from Accio-Potter gets one we will update on the features and what we think of the special sneak peek.

Julie Walters talks about Deathly Hallows

Julia Walters, the actress who plays Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, recently spoke about Deathly Hallows in an interview about her new movie. The most interesting part of the quote is where she mentions Molly Weasley's duel with Bellatrix Lestrange:

“It is back to Harry Potter. Mrs Weasley has a lot to do this time. I kill Helena Bonham Carter for a start – and not many can say that. We have a bit of a wand contest, I can’t wait. It will be sad, though, because I’ve watched all of them all grow up. It will certainly leave a void."

New Interview With David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Emma Watson

Total Film Magazine has a new interview with Emma Watson, Steve Kloves, and David Heyman in their March 2010 issue. They talked about both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

In the interview, Steve Kloves talked about why they split Deathly Hallows:

"Ultimately everyone felt that, despite the challenges it would present, the split was the most sound creative decision," explains veteran screenwriter Steve Kloves. "It should allow us to stretch a bit with the characters and give them the proper send-off."

David Heyman talks about the difference between the two parts of Deathly Hallows:

"Part 1 is dynamic, adrenalised, visceral and takes place on the road," director David Yates told Total Film last year. "It's a refugee story about three kids cut off from everything they know and everybody they love, being pursued relentlessly by people who want to murder them."

According to Yates, Part 2 will be a different beast again: "A big opera, a great big epic, with huge battles."

"How do you make them one but two separate and distinct stories?' ponders Yates. "Do you break it with a moment of suspense or one of resolution?"

Meanwhile, Emma Watson talked about how the absence of Hogwarts affects the shooting of the films:

"I feel like I'm on a different film," Watson confirms. "The others have this structure. You know, we come into the Great Hall and there's the opening talk. And that's gone."

Thanks to Snitch Seeker for the transcription!
