For those of you who are unaware, the Chamber of Chat is an online game in which thousands of Harry Potter fans come to gather, chat, and play games together. During an official upgrade announcement/discussion on Friday, Chamber of Chat officials announced that current locations in the game (Hogwarts, the Leaky Cauldron, Gringotts, etc.) would be changed to more generic names such as: castle, pub, and bank. When first pressed with outrage and questioning over the changes, one official in particular refused to give any more information on the reasons of why these changes are necessary, but then admitted that the site had been asked by Warner Bros., the company that owns the rights to the Harry Potter brand, to change specific Harry Potter names because of a similar project to the gaming service that was in the works.

K. Rowling a wonderful 45th birthday today. Most fans would agree that her writing has influenced us and our lives. She created our beloved character, Harry Potter, and many other characters in his world. The first book was published in 1997, and since then published six more that have been adapted to movies and have created a theme park. Since all of her books have been translated to many languages, she has changed the world with Harry's story and the inspiring words she has given to fans. Without her books, we wouldn't have this amazing fandom where there's music, fan fiction, podcasts, art, and many other things based off of her amazing book series. This fandom has brought people together, made friends, created new things, and even helped to change the world though HPA.

We know we couldn't be the people we are today without her. We also want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Harry Potter. He's turning 30 today. It wasn't long ago that he was turning 17 and fighting for the wizarding world against Lord Voldemort. We want to thank him for his inspiring story that has touched our lives.

We also know that we have forgotten to mention Professor Neville Longbottom's birthday, which was July 30, 2010. Though we forgot to mention we want to let everyone know he's not forgotten. He's also has turned 30. He's a true Gryffindor even though he didn't think he was at first.

Congratulations and many wishes to J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter, and Neville Longbottom!

We want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Daniel Radcliffe. He turns 21 years old today, July 23, 2010. He's played Harry Potter in the film franchise since the age of 11. He's also been a part of December Boys, My Boy Jack, and the upcoming The Woman in Black and All Quiet on the Western Front. Dan has made his debut in the West End and Broadway with Equus, and will return to the stage next year with the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
